We got to tag along with some of the scientists checking their instruments on the slopes of Tungurahua.
Much closer to the erupting volcano than the observatory (13 km away), the occasional thundering explosions
were much louder. One instrument location is right near this quirky treehouse, which hangs out
over a very steep and deep canyon. Obviously, these kids have no fear and were just having a
magical time playing on the swing and climbing into the treehouse.
