We spent the night in Banos at the El Marques Posada and the next morning hopped (literally) the bus to Misahualli, where we stayed at Hostal El Paisano, recommended by Ximena Guevara, owner of the El Marques. We'd thought of going to Tena, but Ximena explained it was a big town mostly catering to folks heading to the jungle and we'd have more fun in the much smaller town of Misahualli. She was right.

The next morning it was back on the bus to continue our loop over Papallacta Pass and back to San Jorge Quito one last night before catching the plane to the rainforest in the Oriente and Sacha Lodge.
