As Barbara headed underground on her caving adventure, Norma and I headed up the coast to Cape Farewell. After that trip, we all re-grouped and drove to Picton for the ferry trip back to Wellington for a week on the North Island.

Planning
on the Picton Ferry

A smooth sail to Wellington, only to find all the car rental places closed on our arrival. With the aid of Stuart and Andrew, and a most apologetic car rental guy at the airport, we now found ourselves in Grog (a huge green SUV that ate gas way faster than our old buddy, Moby) heading to Dannevirke, arriving around 1 am to be greeted by Stuart's delightful mother who let us stay in her home for the night. Up early the next morn for a fun, fascinating and informative visit to Andrew's fabulous farm. No pictures, but it was a treat meeting Andrew's wife, Helen, and listening to their creative son, Jordan, explain all his marvelous inventions.
